Minister of Social Development and Family Receives the Spouse of the Prime Minister of Armenia and the Armenian Ambassador to Qatar
Her Excellency Ms. Buthaina bint Ali Al Jabr Al Nuaimi, Minister of Social Development and Family, received Her Excellency Ms. Anna Hakobyan, spouse of the Prime Minister of Armenia and Chief Executive Officer of the “My Step” Foundation, along with His Excellency Mr. Tigran Kevorkian, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to the State of Qatar. The meeting was also attended by Mr.Khalid Mohammed Al-Kuwari, Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Qatar Social Work.
During the meeting, both sides discussed various aspects of cooperation in the field of social work and family development, exchanging views on ways to strengthen collaboration between the two countries in these areas. The meeting also witnessed the signing of a cooperation agreement between the Qatar Social Work and the My Step Charitable Foundation. The agreement aims to exchange expertise and enhance cooperation in empowering persons with disabilities, supporting women and children, and developing capacities in the social sector. The agreement was signed on behalf of the Qatar Social Work by Mr. Khalid Mohammed Al-Kuwari, while Ms. Talin Terkmen, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the My Step Foundation, signed on behalf of the Armenian foundation.
Her Excellency Ms. Anna Hakobyan also visited the Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities and the Al Noor Center for the Blind, accompanied by the Acting CEO of the Qatar Social Work.
The visit commenced with a comprehensive introductory tour of the Shafallah Center for Persons with Disabilities, where Her Excellency Ms. Anna Hakobyan was briefed on the center’s distinguished facilities and services provided to its members. She was also introduced to various programs that contribute to the rehabilitation and skill development of persons with disabilities. Ms. Maryam Saif Al-Suwaidi, Executive Director of the Shafallah Center, welcomed the visiting delegation and provided a detailed explanation of the center’s activities and its mission to promote social inclusion for this important group.
Following this, the delegation proceeded to the Al Noor Center for the Blind, where they were received by Mr. Mishal Abdullah Al-Nuaimi, Executive Director of the center. He presented a detailed overview of the programs and services offered to support and educate visually impaired individuals. During the visit, the delegation was also introduced to the latest innovations and technologies that contribute to improving the lives of the visually impaired and enabling their active participation in society.
This visit comes within the framework of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries in the fields of social and humanitarian work. It reaffirms the importance of supporting and empowering persons with disabilities by providing an inclusive and supportive environment for them across various sectors.
