Qatar Foundation for Social Work, in partnership with UNICEF and Generation Amazing, successfully organized a specialized training workshop titled "Advocacy and Support Fundamentals", held on May 25–26, 2025, at Wifaq Family Consulting Center. This initiative is part of the Foundation’s broader efforts to raise awareness and empower communities by strengthening the capacities of professionals working in the field of social advocacy.

The workshop aimed to equip participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in advocacy tools and strategies. It focused on enhancing participants’ ability to plan and implement impactful community campaigns based on scientific principles and strategic planning. Interactive sessions, hands-on exercises, and constructive discussions explored key topics such as the use of data, understanding social behavior, and leveraging media and community coalitions to drive positive change.

Commenting on the initiative, Ms. Ghada Khalifa Al-Subaey, Director of Advocacy and International Relations at Qatar Foundation for Social Work, highlighted the importance of such capacity-building efforts. “This workshop reflects our commitment to advancing sustainable development goals by strengthening the skills of social sector professionals and promoting a culture of positive influence through advocacy,” she said. “Real change begins with empowering individuals and institutions with the tools to effect change, understand public policy, and work collectively to serve community needs.”

She added: “Our collaboration with UNICEF and Generation Amazing embodies our belief in the value of international partnerships and our dedication to aligning local efforts with global best practices in social development and human rights — particularly in child protection and supporting vulnerable groups. We also place high importance on promoting conscious civic engagement and enhancing the impact and sustainability of the national social work sector in line with Qatar’s development vision.”

Mr. Nasser Al-Khori, Executive Director of Generation Amazing Foundation, highlighted the importance of advocacy as a cornerstone of the Foundation’s work, stating:
"Advocacy lies at the heart of what we do at Generation Amazing Foundation. Through this collaboration with Qatar Foundation for Social Work, we aim to empower social workers to harness the transformative power of sport. We hope this workshop opens new avenues to address urgent social challenges and achieve real, sustainable impact through sport-based advocacy."

Mr. Anthony MacDonald, UNICEF Representative in Qatar, also expressed pride in the partnership, saying:
"UNICEF is proud of its ongoing partnership in Qatar with Qatar Foundation for Social Work and the pivotal role it plays nationally in promoting children’s safety, wellbeing, and development. Today’s workshop, which focused on child protection advocacy for frontline workers and managers, marks an important milestone in our continued cooperation with the Foundation. Qatar’s leadership in child rights at the national level continues to serve as a model for other countries."

This workshop aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030, which emphasizes human and social development as key pillars for building a prosperous and cohesive society. It also reflects Qatar Foundation for Social Work’s belief in investing in the capacity-building of social sector professionals and equipping them with effective advocacy tools. The collaboration with UNICEF and Generation Amazing Foundation reinforces the Foundation’s commitment to global best practices and strategic partnerships that promote conscious community participation, social justice, and sustainable development in line with the nation's aspirations—both now and in the future.
